BeneStream provides free enrollment assistance to help you access a wide range of public benefits you may not know
are available to you. BeneStream offers assistance in many languages, including Spanish, Russian, Chinese and
Haitian Creole, and their experts can help you and your family navigate the enrollment process, which can be
complicated.
Who Can Access Benefits Through BeneStream?
- Members who have lost their job
- Home Care members who work part-time and are not eligible for Benefit Fund health benefits (Home Care members
who do receive Benefit Fund health benefits may be eligible for other public programs)
- Retirees
- Family members not covered by current health insurance
- Non-traditional family members
What Benefits Are Available to You?

Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP): helps those who qualify buy healthy
foods with a debit card that can be used like cash.

Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP): helps pay costs for fuel, utilities, equipment or
repairs during the winter either directly to utility company or to you.

Lifeline Assistance Program: provides low-income families with free or low-cost cell
phones, voice minutes and texting.

Medicare: a public health plan that provides coverage to seniors age 65 and older.

Medicaid: a comprehensive public health plan that includes dental vision and
prescription coverage at little or no cost.

Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP): For families who may earn too much to
qualify for Medicaid, CHIP is a free government health insurance option available for children.

Qualified Health Plans (QHPs): health plans that are certified by—and available on—the
Health Insurance Marketplace for those who do not qualify for a public health plan. They have
limits on deductibles, co-pays and out-of-pocket maximums.
