Future of America Learning Center (FALC)

About FALC
Since 1993, the Future of America Learning Center (FALC) has provided affordable, high-quality early education and childcare for working families in the Bronx. Our programs nurture children’s cognitive, socio-emotional and physical development in a safe, supportive environment.
FALC partners with organizations like the NYC Department of Education and local colleges and has been recognized as a Center of Excellence and a Pre-K Showcase School. We use The Creative Curriculum, a hands-on, play-based approach that integrates language arts, literacy, mathematics, science, social studies and socio-emotional learning. Our program fosters creativity, social skills and confidence through exploration, interaction and experimentation.
Our Team
FALC is staffed with highly qualified, enthusiastic and passionate professionals who understand and believe in every child. FALC staff continuously attend trainings to gain the most up-to-date credentials and keep up on new trends in early childhood education.
All FALC staff have undergone a comprehensive background check and have state central register clearance and fingerprinting on record.

Day in the Life
Flow of the Day includes:
- Morning Greetings
Our arrival routine and breakfast time provides a positive start to the day. This time fosters community among students, nourishes their minds and bodies, and establishes a predictable routine that helps them feel safe, connected, and ready to learn. - Creative Movement
This allocated time for creative movement, exercise, yoga and meditation helps open the children’s creative energy encouraging self-expression and connection to others. - Question of the Day
Fosters a sense of community, promotes critical thinking and encourages active participation by providing children with a space to share ideas, listen and engage in meaningful discussions. - Mighty Minutes®
Short, engaging activities that seamlessly integrate language, literacy, math, science, social studies, and physical skills into transitional moments throughout the school day—whether preparing for outdoor play or gathering for group time. - Choice Time/World of Work
Students choose activities based on their interests, fostering autonomy and independent learning. In this “World of Work,” they engage with thoughtfully designed learning stations equipped with authentic materials and tools for exploration. - Interactive Read-aloud
The interactive read-aloud fosters discussion, strengthens language skills such as phonemic awareness and comprehension, and nurtures a love of reading. - Small Group Lessons and Activities
Creates a focused learning environment where students receive individualized support, engage in differentiated instruction tailored to their strengths and needs, collaborate with peers, and develop essential skills such as communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving. - Outdoor/Indoor Play
Children engage in indoor and outdoor play to develop cognitive and language skills while strengthening emotional regulation. This time fosters peer interactions and enhances social skills such as communication and conflict resolution. It also supports gross motor development—through activities like running, jumping and climbing—while promoting spatial awareness and socialization. - Lunch
Provided by our contracted external vendor, meals offer more than just nutrition. They encourage social interaction, reinforce table manners and help children make mindful food choices while staying nourished for learning throughout the day. - Nap Time
Mid-day rest offers essential benefits, including improved cognitive function, memory consolidation, increased alertness, mood regulation and overall support for healthy physical and mental development, helping children stay engaged in learning. - Snack
Healthy snacks help children maintain energy levels throughout the day, which supports their active play and learning. - Afternoon Roundup
A calming transition as children prepare to wind down and get ready for dismissal. - Family Partnerships
FALC actively engages parents and caregivers in their child’s learning journey, fostering a collaborative environment where families and teachers work together to support development and well-being. By sharing information and strategies, we ensure a seamless transition between home and the classroom, promoting continuous learning across settings. - Reflection
Reflection enables administrators and educators to critically assess their interactions, teaching strategies and classroom dynamics. This process helps identify areas for improvement, better understand individual student needs and enhance the effectiveness of learning experiences.
